Voting: Support KodaDot's RMRK2 proposal
Now you have a chance to support our marketplace to grow. We have been working hard to deliver RMRK2 implementation for the past weeks and plan to continue our efforts. Vote in this referendum.
Dear KodaDot friends and artists,
Now you have a chance to support our marketplace to grow. We have been working hard to deliver RMRK2 implementation for the past weeks and plan to continue our efforts. Our goal is to provide Kusama users with continued access to a sustainable and accessible platform for NFT trading using the latest RMRKv2 standard.
Vote here. Each vote counts.
The discussion was opened here, and we got a lot of positive support from our community. We are very thankful for the positive feedback. But that was just a start. It’s time to move forward. Now it’s possible to vote on our proposal to continue our plans, and we need your support again. The full proposal link can be found here.
How to vote?
Voting is easy. If you already have experience with voting on proposals in Polkadot/Kusama and want to support us, continue to Polkassebly.
Read on if you are new to voting and want to learn how to do it. You only need to have a Polkadot wallet. The easiest way is going through Polkassemly. Of course, it’s possible to go through the Governance tab (Referenda) in your Polkadot App. But for today's article, I will show you how to do it through Polkassemly.
Step 1: Go to Polkassemly and log in with your wallet
Log in with your wallet. Choose the wallet you use, then your account, and confirm it.
Step 2: Time for voting!
If you want to vote on our proposal #220, click on Cast Vote Now.
Choose your vote: You will see this pop-up window (picture below). In this step, you can vote Aye (Yes), Nay (No), Split (vote partially for yes and partially for no), or Abstain.
Step 3: Voting: Locking period
To vote, you need to use your KSM. This KSM will stay in your account and it’s yours. You can express your opinion with it by using it in voting. The more you use it, the bigger your support is. You can also choose if you want to lock your KSM for a time period to strengthen your vote.
Locking:
Lock balance: To vote, you must choose the amount of balance you want to use. This balance is yours and will be yours; you are not sending any KSM anywhere.
Vote lock: You may also lock up your tokens for a greater length of time to weigh your vote more strongly. When your tokens are locked, you cannot transfer them. However, they can still be used for further votes. The longer you are willing to lock your tokens, the stronger your vote will be weighted.
You can also choose a 0.1x voting balance - this will weaken your vote, but you will not need to lock your funds.
The locking periods in our case are:
The timeline for the conviction starts after the voting period ends; tokens used for voting will always be locked until the end of the voting period, no matter what conviction you vote with.
When you are comfortable with your decision, click the “Confirm" button to submit your transaction and wait for it to be included in a block.
Thank you for your vote!
Thanks for all your votes. Positive or negative ones. In case you decide to vote Nay, leave us a comment why, so we can improve in the future.
Together, we can grow and have an impact on our ecosystem. Thank you for standing with us and for playing a crucial role in shaping our future.
Unlocking
The tokens that are locked in a democracy are unlocked lazily. This means that you, the user, must explicitly call an unlock extrinsic to make your funds available again after the lock expires.
You can do this from the "Accounts" page in Polkadot-JS Apps. First, check that your account has a "democracy" lock by opening the details on your balance. In the example below, the account has 150 KSM locked in democracy.
Now you can click the menu button (the three dots) and find the option that says "Clear expired democracy locks". After selecting this option, you may confirm the transaction, and your locks will be cleared when successful.
